The New Space Age will make a landing in Luxembourg on November 24th, 2021 when entrepreneurs and investors gather at the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants in Esch for engaging conference sessions and unique networking opportunities. The NewSpace Europe Conference, hosted by the Luxembourg Space Agency, provides industry-leading startups, agencies, investors and executives the opportunity to learn from, and connect with, each other. The event, now in its third year, will feature startup pitches, tailored meetings, exclusive announcements, and an extensive agenda of expert speakers.
Among them are Franz Fayot, Luxembourg’s Minster of the Economy, who will speak about global connectivity and provide an update on the Lux space sector. Keynote speeches by ESA General Director Josef Aschbacher, UKspace President Will Whitehorn, and SES CEO Steve Collar will be delivered throughout the day.
The conference will also feature several panel discussions on a variety of topics, including The Economics of Space for Earth, featuring TerraWatch Space Founder Aravind Ravichandran, PwC Partner Laurent Probst and OroraTech CEO Thomas Grübler. An entrepreneur panel will dive into financing and the road to commercial viability with Iceye CEO Rafal Modrzewski and Isar Aerospace Chief Commercial Officer Stella Guillen. To address the other side of the equation, an investor’s panel will explore how to balance risk and opportunity, while capturing value within the space industry. This discussion will feature Seraphim Capital CEO Mark Boggett, Promus Ventures Partner Pierre Festal, and Managing Partner for the Satellite Finance Network Joanne Wheeler.
The day will end with a pitch competition in collaboration with the Space Generation Advisory Council, StartupLuxembourg, and Luxinnovation. The deadline for pitch applicants is October 10th, 2021.
The afternoon sessions are curated by the Financial Times. Event sponsors include SES, Spire, the University of Luxembourg, and LuxSpace.
This year’s event is especially anticipated as last year’s NewSpace Europe conference was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NewSpace Europe 2021 is a hybrid event, and will give participants the opportunity to join on-site or remotely.
