Luxembourg ranked 13th worldwide in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2020 by ITU

International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has just released the Global Cybersecurity Index 2020, ranking Luxembourg 13th worldwide and 7th in the Europe region.

International Telecommunication Union has just released the Global Cybersecurity Index 2020, ranking Luxembourg 13th worldwide. A slight drop (-2 positions) from the index's earlier iteration released in 2018 due to the rapid rise of some nations such as India, which moved up 37th places to rank 10th, or Saudi Arabi that jumped 11 positions to rank 2nd (sharing the 2nd position with the United Kingdom). Korea, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Japan also moved up to the top 10. The Untied States of America topped the chart.

Luxembourg maintained its 7th position in the Europe region ranking.

Global Cybersecurity Index is a trusted reference that measures the commitment of ITU Member States to cybersecurity, based on 82 questions on Member State cybersecurity commitments accross five pillars:

–legal measures;

–technical measures;

–organisational measures;

–capacity development measures;

–cooperation measures.

Luxembourg scored a total of 97.41 from a possible maximum of 100 points in the worldwide ranking. Luxembourg's results show the substantial commitment of the country in the field of cybersecurity.
