CGI supports GomSpace in accelerating its software development activities

CGI announced it has been selected by GomSpace, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of nano-satellite solutions, to accelerate its software development activities in order to meet tight customer deadlines. CGI will develop and implement gateways to GomSpace’s autonomous operations platform (MCOP).

OneWeb lance avec succès 34 autres satellites en orbite

OneWeb, une société de communications mondiale dont la mission est d'apporter la connectivité à tous partout dans le monde, a annoncé aujourd'hui le lancement réussi de 34 autres satellites à bord d'un lanceur Soyouz depuis le cosmodrome historique de Baïkonour, au Kazakhstan. Le décollage a eu lieu le 21 mars  à 17h06 UTC. Les satellites de OneWeb se sont séparés de la fusée et ont été distribués en neuf lots. L'acquisition des signaux est prévue dans les prochaines heures.

Le Luxembourg s'investit dans un fonds de capital-risque pour soutenir les technologies spatiales

Lors d'une réunion de la commission parlementaire de l'Économie et de l'Espace, Étienne Schneider, Vice-Premier ministre et ministre de l'Économie, a confirmé que le gouvernement luxembourgeois, en collaboration avec des partenaires des secteurs public et privé, a investi dans Orbital Ventures ('le Fonds'), un fonds d'investissement axé sur les sociétés en phase de démarrage dans le domaine du secteur spatial.

NASA and LSA to further deepen US-Luxembourg co-operation in space

In May 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Space between the Governments of the United States of America and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg designated both NASA and LSA to exchange information about prospective collaboration. Based on this MoU, NASA Administrator James. F. Bridenstine and LSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Marc Serres signed at the 70th International Aeronautical Congress in Washington DC a joint statement of intent to further deepen US-Luxembourg co-operation in space.

Spire and LSA launch space analytics data lake

Luxembourg is now home to one of the world's largest Data Lake for space data analytics. Spire Global, one of the world's largest space-to-cloud analytics companies, today announced that Spire Global Luxembourg will launch its open source Data Lake as of July 10th.  The Spire Data Lake is accessible free of charge to all start-ups, research institutes, and public agencies in Luxembourg. These entities will be provided with sets of proprietary, differentiating, high-quality data for research and non-commercial product development activities.

GovSat et Telespazio France, partenaires stratégiques pour le Ministère français des Armées

Au travers d’un partenariat stratégique, GovSat et Telespazio France ont mis en commun leurs compétences, leurs infrastructures ainsi que leurs solutions pour créer un catalogue complet de services de télécommunications par satellite dans plusieurs bandes militaires. Avec pour objectif de répondre aux besoins de clients gouvernementaux exigeants, ce partenariat a contribué directement à la sélection de Telespazio France par la Direction interarmées des réseaux d'infrastructure et des systèmes d'informations de la défense (DIRISI).  Pour ce contrat, Telespazio France, soutenu par GovSat, commencera à fournir des capacités satellitaires à toutes les entités militaires et étatiques françaises bénéficiaires dès la fin de l’année 2018.

Luxembourg officially launches its space agency

On September 12th, Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider announced the official launch of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) together with its first CEO, Marc Serres. “Luxembourg has always been a courageous country, we will be one of the first movers in Europe to seize the opportunities brought by the new space”.
