What does the bank of the future look like? Everyone was wowed last year by the students of the Luxembourg Tech School who brought together vision, agility and creativity in answering this question. In 48 hours, some teams developed online platforms, while others created apps dealing with complex subjects such as cryptocurrencies, bigd ata and artificial intelligence.
Temenos and LUXHUB collaborate on PSD2 solution for banks
Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the banking software company, today announced that it is collaborating with LUXHUB, a European open banking API platform hosted in Luxembourg. This initiative will help banks meet PSD2 standards, gaining a quick time-to-market as well as maximizing the opportunities of the new API economy. LUXHUB, a joint initiative of four major Luxembourgish retail banks, aims to help the entire banking ecosystem to take advantage of the challenges and opportunities of the European PSD2 directive.

How ABBL Helps Banks to Embrace Technological Disruption
Digital Banking and FinTech Innovation Cluster (DBFI) of the ABBL was created in January 2016. It unites 50 members and 8 FinTech firms interested in exchanging knowledge and ideas on disruptive technologies but also on how digitalisation and the rise of FinTech may impact the banking sector and the financial services being offered to more and more demanding customers.
Fintech Awards further cement Luxembourg as financial technology hub
Fintech company Hydrogen was announced as the winner of the third edition of the Fintech Awards Luxembourg on 20 June 2018 at KPMG Luxembourg’s headquarters in Kirchberg. Lingua Custodia and Apiax were, respectively, the first and second runners up. A special inclusive finance prize was awarded to BitValley for its blockchain-based technology helping small farmers in developing countries.

The LHoFT Foundation enters into collaborative Fintech agreement with the University of Luxembourg
The LHoFT Foundation has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg to develop research and collaborate on projects within the field of Fintech for the benefit of Luxembourg’s financial services community.

LHoFT, B-Hive and KPMG Luxembourg bring together global fintech hubs in Amsterdam
Following the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding between the LHoFT Foundation and B-Hive Belgium at the Paris Fintech Forum in January, the two innovation hubs have been proactively collaborating on initiatives in order to further advance across Europe for the benefit of the financial services industry. In their latest joint endeavor, the LHoFT and B-Hive hosted the first European 'Fin & Tonic' networking event alongside the Money 20/20 Europe conference, Europe’s pre-eminent Fintech conference, in Amsterdam on June 5th 2018.
