The first edition of European Finance Summit took place on March 5th, 2020, where more than 500 finance experts discussed the latest trends of the sector. During the day, several pitching sessions were also organized, around the topics of Fintech, Regtech and Insurtech. Who are the winners of the Pitch Your Startup semi-finals?

25 international startups competed in this edition of Pitch your Startup. Jury members rewarded Sikoba in the Fintech category. Sikoba's blockchain-based IOU platform aims at helping communities reduce money dependency and boost local economies.

Then, Insquary won the Regtech section. "The startup addresses a potentially huge market with ingenuity and pragmatism. If it can build sufficient barriers to entry, the potential is remarkable," explained the jury members.

Finally, Descartes Underwriting was named winner of the Insurtech category. Its goal is to push the boundaries of insurance through data science and technology.

 

Gael Denis (Partner, EY Luxembourg), Bernard Nicolay (Adjunct Professor, Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management), Pascal Bouvier (Fintech Venture Capital Investor), Jean Rognetta (Editor at Large, Forbes France) and Daniel Dippold (President, Kairos Society Europe) were the members of both the Fintech and Regtech juries.

The Insurtech Jury was composed of Jean Elia (CEO, Sogelife), Florian Graillot (Co-founder and Partner, Astorya.VC), Amélie Madinier (CEO, Hub@Luxembourg) and Pauline Bouard (CDO, AXA Luxembourg).
